Our definition
The wider curriculum contains some of the most important subjects in a student’s education. It encompasses:
- Personal Education including relationship and sex education as well as physical health and mental wellbeing.
- Community Education including Spiritual, moral, social, and cultural education, citizenship, and British Values.
- Our Assembly programme
- House System
- Student Council and student voice
- Careers provision
Our intent is to give students a foundation of a successful future. One that gives them a deep understanding of their physical and mental wellbeing; a place in our school community; shows them their responsibilities in a global society; and prepares them for life after secondary education.
Our students will therefore embody our values as a school meaning they show respect, kindness and tolerance to others whilst being giving of themselves, creating the best opportunities for themselves, and succeeding in life by becoming honourable adults.
The Wider Curriculum is delivered within our tutorial schedule as well as through other events and within the subject curriculum.
